Friday 5th July - Summer Ball, celebrating the end of the KSR year
Saturday 6th July - Speech Day for the Senior School
June is with us! The sun is making an occasional appearance, and as the exam season winds down, King’s is feeling positive after a successful ISI School inspection and a very complimentary report in the Good Schools Guide https://www.goodschoolsguide.co.uk/schools/kings-rochester/13E3D75#tab_review
As we wait for the General Election and potential changes in tax rules, the School is well-prepared with plans in place. We are committed to providing quality education, including support for our Foundational Awards. This program offers bursaries to talented and financially deserving pupils in the Medway area, and currently supports four pupils, with a goal of supporting eight in the 2027/28 academic year. If you would like to support this initiative with a single or regular donation, please contact Mark Snoswell at 01634 888555 or via email msnoswell@kings-rochester.co.uk.
King’s continues to thrive with a wonderful pupil and staff community and we are all taking pride in our recent achievements, including:
Below I have included details of various events we would be delighted to welcome you back to. We hope this appeals to a broad spectrum of tastes, but please feel free to contact me if you have an idea for an additional event.
I hope you can come back and visit the School soon.
I recently contacted ORs who had the privilege to be taught by Phil Briant and proposed setting up a Bursary for two years to pay for a new pupil to join the School in the 6th form. I set the target of 65 ORs pledging £32.50 each month for 2 years. To date, the appeal has started well, but I am keen to get greater momentum into our work, as we are keen to sponsor pupils such as "A" who have recently applied and been interviewed for one of our full bursaries. Our assessment is
Highly motivated and proactive young man who is keen to make his mark on the world. He has played a key role in the Kent Scout movement, has been awarded the Platinum Chief Scout of the Year, and represented the scouting movement in the UK Contingent World Scout Jamboree. He wants to study civil engineering at university and afterward hopes to go to Sandhurst and join the Engineers. He is currently at Brompton Academy in Gillingham.
Any regular support we can raise will be useful, and such a donation by a UK resident can also qualify for gift aid, therefore a £32.50 per month donation, with gift aid, will enable us to receive £40.63 a month or £487.56 a year. If this amount is too much we will willing accept and utilise regular donations for a smaller amount.
I hope you look back on your days at King's with fond memories, and you can support the school and its activities, today and in the future. Every donation will make a difference to the school, and our pupils, and therefore we welcome any contributions, from a regular or one-off donation, or via a legacy (which we suggest is a % of your estate).
