This term has seen the launch of Oakham’s new Academic Enrichment initiative, a schoolwide programme designed to give pupils in every year group the chance to explore subjects beyond the syllabus in ways that spark curiosity and inspire awe and wonder.

Lunchtime enrichment sessions have allowed teachers to delve into the most exciting aspects of their subjects. From Egyptology to economics, protest writing to microbiology, pupils have experienced enrichment moments that broaden their horizons and deepen their love of learning. By intentionally going off-syllabus, teachers have helped pupils see connections across disciplines, grapple with big ideas, and develop life skills that will serve them well at university and beyond.
