The event brought together more than 120 pupils from 12 independent schools and our pupils rose to the challenge with impressive focus and determination, embracing the chance to test themselves against new opponents and develop their tactical play.
Chess continues to grow in popularity across the Prep School, with increasing numbers of pupils discovering the cognitive benefits the game offers. From strengthening problem-solving skills, memory and creativity to fostering patience, control and decision-making, chess provides a valuable foundation for wider learning. It has been encouraging to see so many new players joining our chess club this year.
