In a special assembly for pupils in Years 10 to 13, our guests shared stories and reflections on how Christ College has evolved, from a school for boys to the fully co-educational community we are proud to be today.
Mr Pearson opened the assembly by reading Mr Hockey’s recollections of his time as Headmaster from 1982 to 1996. Although Mr Hockey was unable to attend, his presence was warmly felt through his words and the portrait that stood proudly on stage. A key milestone of Mr Hockey’s headship was the opening of de Winton House in 1987, the very first girls’ house.
