AGM 2016

The 2016 AGM was held at Queen’s Gate School by kind permission of the Principal, Ros Kamaryc who also welcomed representatives with music recitals from two students and a brief summary of the school’s year which had been filled with 150th anniversary celebrations.

The formal part of the AGM saw the retirement of John Kidd as President and Roger Moulton as Vice President. Both were sincerely thanked for their long service to AROPS.

Bill Gillen also retired as Chairman and was warmly thanked for his outstanding leadership during his nine years in the role. He will stay with AROPS as the new President, helping to plan the association’s 50th anniversary in 2021 and striving to increase membership.

Peter Jakobek of Bristol Grammar School was welcomed as the new Chairman, along with Hannah Baker (Queen’s Gate School) as the new Secretary. Other new faces elected to the Committee included Tracey Ahmet (The Rugbeian Society), George Bunting (The Wellensian Association), Fiona Meredith (Malvern St James OGA) and Ken Hodcroft (The Old Novocastrians’ Association). The meeting was also pleased to elect Trish Woodhouse, former Headmistress of Malvern St James School, as Vice President.
